Fantasy Premier League tips – Gameweek 10

There will be goals a plenty at Old Trafford – image from telegraph.co.uk

We’re expecting goals galore in the Premier League this gameweek and we’re backing Chelsea and West Brom to bounce back from their respective league disappointments from last weekend.

Roberto Di Matteo’s side travel to south Wales to face Swansea this afternoon with man of the moment Juan Mata a real doubt. While Eden Hazard (£10.3m) is the obvious choice from the Chelsea midfield, we feel there’s also value to be had in considering Brazilian pair Emboaba Oscar (£7.8m) and Nascimento Ramires (£6.3m).

On Monday night, West Bromwich Albion are up against a Southampton side that has conceded no fewer than 26 goals in the Premier League this season so it might be worth backing some more goals in this fixture. James Morrison (£6.2m) has been the stand out player for the Baggies this season and with Shane Long a slight doubt for Monday, it might be worth looking at Romelu Lukaku (£6.4m) or Peter Odemwingie (£6.9m).

Others worth considering

Another team that we’d expect to be among the goals during the next couple of gameweeks is Tottenham. For Spurs, it’s difficult to look beyond Gareth Bale (£9.7m) and Jermain Defoe (£8.1m), although Clint Dempsey (£9.2m) could also be worth considering with AVB’s men up against Wigan at home. Across London at Upton Park, we’d not be a bit surprised if Carlos Tévez (£9.5m) got in on the goalscoring act up against former club West Ham, given the form he’s in right now.

With goals very much our theme this week, look no further than Old Trafford this lunchtime. While we’d back both sides to get on the scoresheeet, United have got to be heavy favourites here having not lost against Arsenal in their last eight meetings at home. Wayne Rooney (£11.8m) has made a habit of scoring against Arsenal during his career, while you simply cannot afford to miss out on having Robin Van Persie (£13.4m) in your fantasy side as he prepares to face his old club.

Best of luck
