Arsenal sweat on Van Persie fitness

Arsenal have another injury concern after Robin Van Persie limped out of Holland’s 5-3 defeat of Hungary on Tuesday night. The Gunners front man had opened the scoring in the Euro 2012 qualifier but was forced out the action with a knee problem after a challenge by Vilmos Vanczak. Losing Van Persie at this stage of the season will be a real worry for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as he bids to end the Gunners’ six-year trophy drought, with Theo Walcott, Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas already sidelined through injury. Arsenal are now waiting for an update from the Netherlands, with head coach Bert van Markwijk unable to shed much light on the injury immediately after the game.
