De Gea to Manchester United (Finally)

Fergie finally got his man, David de Gea is the worst kept secret as to who would take over the number 1 jersey in the red half of Manchester but the deal has now been completed.

The £18.9m investment is the second highest transfer fee for a goalkeeper, only eclipsed by the mammoth signing of Buffon for £36.8m.  The Spanish U21 shot-stopper came through the ranks at Athletico Madrid and has signed at Utd for a 5 year deal.

It remains to be seen if Tomasz Kuszczak or De Gea will be first choice between the sticks at Old Trafford, but having watched David De Gea play for Athletico in recent years, my money is firmly with the Spaniard.
