The England manager has stood down from his position following a meeting with the FA about his comments on Italian TV regarding the John Terry captaincy saga. Capello was reported to be upset that he had his authority undermined regarding the courts deciding the fate of the now ex-England captain.
”We have accepted Fabio’s resignation, agreeing this is the right decision. We would like to thank Fabio for his work with the England team and wish him every success in the future.” – Bernstein
This has left a gaping hole in the position for England manager, and on the day that Harry Redknapp has been cleared of all tax evasion charges and is now the bookies favourite to take over from the Italian, could there be a possible switcheroo? Harry once said himself that managing the national team would be a great honour and one that he would find hard to turn down, but he is on to big things with Spurs now. Most England fans want Harry to take the job, most Spurs fans would hate this to happen, if only there was a quality manager suddenly out of work who could come in and help out at Spurs while Harry juggles both jobs until the end of the season and then take over next campaign… oh.. wait. But then, what do I know?
